Mohsin Khan Cricket History

Mohsin Khan is a former Pakistani cricketer who played for the national team from 1977 to 1986. He was a top-order batsman and a part-time medium-pace bowler.


Mohsin Khan was born on March 15, 1955, in Karachi, Pakistan. He made his first-class debut for Karachi in the 1973-74 season and soon established himself as a reliable opening batsman.

In 1977, Mohsin made his Test debut for Pakistan against Australia in Karachi. He scored 38 and 149 not out in the two innings of his debut Test, which was a sign of things to come. He went on to play 48 Tests for Pakistan, scoring 2,899 runs at an average of 39.04, with 8 centuries and 13 half-centuries.
Mohsin's highest Test score of 200 not out came against India in Lahore in 1983. He also scored 3 double centuries in first-class cricket.
In One Day Internationals (ODIs), Mohsin played 75 matches for Pakistan, scoring 2,042 runs at an average of 31.41, with 1 century and 15 half-centuries.
Apart from his batting skills, Mohsin was also a useful medium-pace bowler. He took 12 wickets in Tests and 18 wickets in ODIs.
Mohsin Khan's cricket career came to an end in 1986, after he announced his retirement from international cricket. After his playing career, he has worked as a cricket commentator and coach.
