Haris Rauf is a Pakistani cricketer who gained recognition for his impressive performances in domestic cricket and subsequently earned a place in the national team. Born on November 7, 1993, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, Rauf is a right-arm fast bowler known for his raw pace and ability to generate bounce

Rauf's cricket journey began in the domestic circuit, where he played for Rawalpindi Rams in the Pakistan Cup in 2017. He made an immediate impact, picking up 11 wickets in five matches and finishing as the tournament's joint-leading wicket-taker. His consistent performances earned him a contract with the Lahore Qalandars franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for the 2019 season.

It was during the 2019 edition of the PSL that Haris Rauf rose to prominence. He burst onto the scene with a scintillating hat-trick in his second match against Multan Sultans, becoming the first-ever Pakistani bowler to achieve this feat in the PSL. Rauf's raw pace and aggressive bowling style caught the attention of cricket fans, and he quickly became a crowd favorite.
In the same season, Rauf continued his impressive form and finished as the leading wicket-taker for the Lahore Qalandars with 11 wickets in just seven matches. His ability to consistently clock speeds over 140 km/h (87 mph) and deliver pinpoint yorkers made him a feared bowler in the tournament.
Rauf's stellar performances in the PSL earned him a call-up to the Pakistan national team. He made his international debut in the T20I series against Bangladesh in January 2020. In his first match, Rauf showcased his skills by taking four wickets for 23 runs, earning him the Player of the Match award. He followed it up with another impressive performance, taking two wickets in the next match.
Following his successful international debut, Rauf's career faced a setback when he tested positive for COVID-19. He had to undergo mandatory quarantine, which delayed his participation in subsequent tournaments. However, he continued to make an impact in the limited opportunities he received.
Rauf's ability to deliver in high-pressure situations was on display in the 2020-21 Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia. Representing the Melbourne Stars, he emerged as the leading wicket-taker for the team and played a crucial role in their journey to the final. Rauf's blistering pace and accurate yorkers troubled batsmen throughout the tournament.
In recognition of his excellent performances, Rauf received his first Test call-up in May 2021 for Pakistan's tour of Zimbabwe. Although he did not make his Test debut during that series, his selection reflected the selectors' faith in his abilities across all formats.
Overall, Haris Rauf's cricket career has been relatively short but impactful. He has established himself as a promising fast bowler with the ability to trouble batsmen with his pace and accuracy. With his raw talent and determination, Rauf has the potential to become a key player for Pakistan in the years to come.
